At YHR Technologies, I had the opportunity to work on the SDC Agrovet Store, an e-commerce platform designed for agricultural supplies. The project involved developing a mobile app for customers and an admin dashboard for managing operations. This experience provided valuable insights into mobile and web app development using modern tools and technologies.

About SDC Agrovet Store

The SDC Agrovet Store app serves as a one-stop shop for agricultural products, offering an extensive catalog of:

  • Seeds, fertilizers, and pesticides.
  • Animal feeds and farm equipment.

The app provides competitive pricing, expert advice, and convenient doorstep delivery, revolutionizing how agricultural products are purchased.

Objectives

  • Develop a mobile e-commerce app for customers using React Native.
  • Create an admin dashboard with Next.js for managing products, orders, and users.
  • Ensure a seamless and efficient experience for both customers and administrators.

Mobile App

  • Developed a full-featured e-commerce application using React Native with Expo.

  • Built a comprehensive CRUD-based admin panel with Next.js.

Challenges

  • Learning and implementing React Query for the first time, which quickly became one of my favorite libraries due to its powerful data-fetching capabilities.
  • Transitioning from mobile app development to web app development with Next.js, requiring a flexible approach to problem-solving.

Key Learnings

  • Acquired hands-on experience in mobile app development with React Native and Expo.
  • Gained a deeper understanding of server state management with React Query and Vercel SWR.
  • Developed skills in backend integration and hosting with Supabase and Vercel.
